Linux kernel v6.19 will soon be released in early February 2026, and once again it includes several key contributions from Ideas On Board to the Linux media ecosystem.

Among the 220 patches in the pull request, 65 were authored by our team. Our strength, however, is not just in the numbers, but in our ability to deliver high‑quality, production‑ready changes to the Linux kernel. We have the expertise to support new hardware, refine the platforms we maintain, and continuously improve the Video4Linux2 framework, providing stronger foundations for the entire community.

Here is a selection of our contributions that will be included in this release:

  • Mali‑C55 ISP and Renesas IVC drivers, together with their libcamera counterparts, enabling camera support on Renesas RZ/V2H(P) SoCs—now officially supported in our growing solutions portfolio.

  • Improvements to the CSI‑2 receiver on NXP i.MX8MP, marking our continued efforts to enhance the reliability and performance of i.MX8MP‑based products.

  • Upstream support for the Sony IMX335 image sensor, the result of our sustained work to deliver pixel‑perfect solutions with this widely used sensor.

You can find the relevant pull requests on the Linux Media patchwork:

And these are only the patches we authored ourselves, This does not include the many others we reviewed, discussed, and improved behind the scenes.

The volume and quality of our contributions stem directly from the work we do to improve our customers’ products and solutions. It is further proof that if you want to design innovative camera systems, you should work with the leaders of innovation in the Linux media ecosystem.

We simply make cameras work. Let’s do it together.
